SUMMARY
The true essence of spiritual beneficence is igniting Divine love in one’s soul, union with Allah, purification of the self and attaining the presence in Mohammadan Assembly. This spiritual beneficence is achieved through the invocation of “Hoo,” contemplation of Ism-e-Allah Zaat, and the spiritual attention of a Murshid (spiritual guide).
Sultan-ul-Arifeen Sultan Bahoo introduced and spread the blessings of Ism-e-Allah Zaat and Ism-e-Mohammad during his time, documenting them extensively in nearly 140 books. However, the limited reach of his teachings was due to the lack of modern communication methods. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman, the spiritual successor of Sultan Bahoo, has greatly expanded these teachings globally. Through Tehreek Dawat-e-Faqr, he uses modern tools like books, social media, websites, and magazines to share the spiritual beneficence of Faqr. His efforts ensure accessibility to Ism-e-Allah Zaat for people of all religions, sects, and nations.
Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen has not only preserved Sultan Bahoo’s works but also enriched them. For instance, he restored and interpreted Sultan Bahoo’s Punjabi poetry, Abyat-e-Bahoo, making it comprehensible through translations in Urdu and English. Additionally, he translated over 20 of Sultan Bahoo’s Persian books into Urdu and English, ensuring their authenticity and accessibility.
To simplify the teachings of Faqr, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen authored Sufism – The Soul of Islam, an encyclopaedic work categorising Sultan Bahoo’s teachings. He has also written extensively on Sufi topics, with translations available for global readers. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen has utilised digital platforms, creating mobile apps and websites where these teachings are freely accessible.
Everyone is invited to connect with Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen in person or online to receive spiritual guidance, purify their Self, and embark on the path of Faqr. Through his efforts, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen has been recognised as the contemporary spiritual successor of Sultan Bahoo and the leader of the Sarwari Qadri order.
Spiritual Beneficence of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen
Many people ask the question that do you get spiritual beneficence from your spiritual guide? Therefore, it is important to understand what spiritual beneficence is and how it is obtained. Generally, people take spiritual beneficence to mean that in every difficulty one should seek spiritual help from their spiritual guide (Murshid) and that difficulty will go away. According to majority of people that difficulty is related to a worldly matter and not spiritual. For example, seeking increase in worldly sustenance, children for the childless couples, job for the unemployed etc. There are very few who truly seek help from their spiritual guide for a spiritual or inner matter.
In fact, spiritual beneficence means to light the candle of Divine love in one’s inward. It means to attain union with Allah Almighty. Spiritual beneficence means to purify the soul and attain presence in Mohammadan Assembly, to adopt the straight path (Sirat-e-Mustaqeen). The spiritual beneficence is received through the invocation of ‘Hoo’ and contemplation of Ism-e-Allah Zaat and the spiritual attention of the Murshid.
Before Sultan-ul-Arifeen Sultan Bahoo, people were not aware of the blessings of Ism-e-Allah Zaat. Sultan Bahoo, for the first time in his writings openly explained the sacred names Hoo, Ism-e-Allah Zaat and Ism-e-Mohammad and their blessings. He not only documented all that through his writings but he travelled throughout the country to spread the blessings among the people. However, in that era means of mass communication were not available so only a limited number of people benefited from the blessings.
Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Spreads Spiritual Beneficence
In today’s time, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman has made tireless efforts to spread the spiritual beneficence throughout the world. As the spiritual successor of Sultan Bahoo, he not only made nationwide preaching tours for this purpose but also founded Tehreek Dawat-e-Faqr to spread the blessings of Ism-e-Allah Zaat and Ism-e-Mohammad. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen has spread the beneficence of Ism-e-Allah Zaat through unique books, social media, websites and monthly Sultan-ul-Faqr magazine to name a few. The men and women who pledged allegiance online from different countries are a proof that the spiritual beneficence of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen is beyond the boundaries of time and space. Divine seekers from every corner of the world are benefiting from this beneficence. This spiritual beneficence has been made available for everyone, regardless of religion or sect.
Ism-e-Allah Zaat and Ism-e-Mohammad
A person belonging to any religion, nation or sect can receive the Ism-e-Allah Zaat on the very first day of pledging allegiance without any hardship or struggle and not only can one attain the Ism-e-Allah Zaat but through the perfect spiritual sight of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen on practicing invocation and contemplation of Ism-e-Allah Zaat with sincerity and love, one can attain all the bounties and blessings that Sultan Bahoo mentioned in his books. The greatest blessing is the gnosis of Divine Essence and the presence in Mohammadan Assembly. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen not only made Ism-e-Allah Zaat public but also Ism-e-Mohammad. Before Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen, Ism-e-Mohammad was only given to select few disciples by the spiritual guides of Sarwari Qadri order and that too after lots of trials and hard work.
Sultan Bahoo openly mentioned the blessings of Ism-e-Allah Zaat and Ism-e-Mohammad in his books. However, in today’s age if anyone has publicised their blessings in true essence that is indeed Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen.
Sultan Bahoo’s books are a testament to his spiritual beneficence. He authored nearly 140 books to guide the seekers of Allah on the right path. Only one of his books is in Punjabi language while all others are in Persian language.
During the time of Sultan Bahoo, modern printing equipment was not available. Manuscripts were written by hand and more manuscripts were copied from them. Therefore, during that period only a limited number of people could benefit from the teachings of Faqr. In fact, if there is an authentic source of Sultan Bahoo books in today’s time that is indeed Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen.
Abyat-e-Bahoo Kamil
Abyat-e-Bahoo Kamil is a living example of this. This Punjabi poetry of Sultan Bahoo provides a beautiful interpretation of Quran and Hadith. However, as this is written in Punjabi language and some very difficult words have been used in it, it is not easy for everyone to understand it. On the other hand, many people who were not familiar with Faqr and Sufism, had made some additions on their own. Some of these additions were even against the Quran, Hadith and Sharia. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen worked very hard to restore Sultan Bahoo’s poetry in its original form. He also added a dictionary to help people understand difficult words and also provided exegesis of the verses so that people can understand the teachings of Sultan Bahoo. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen not only published his research in book form but also made a detailed and comprehensive analysis of these verses in video form which one can watch on YouTube.
Now, the problem was, people who can’t even understand Urdu, how would they benefit from this Divine poetry. Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen did not forget them either. He got these translated into English after five years of hard work under his own supervision and guidance. This book has been published as “Sultan Bahoo Punjabi Poetry” translated by Sahibzadi Muneeza Najib Sarwari Qadri.
Special Features of the Book
The special feature of this book is that verses are first written in Shahmukhi, which is the script that Sultan Bahoo used. After Shahmukhi, the verses are written in Gurmukhi which is the Punjabi and religious script of Sikhs around the world. Then, the verses are written in Roman Urdu and finally in English. This is followed by exegesis and then a glossary. For the preparation of this book, Sahibzadi Muneeza Najib especially learned Gurmukhi script and thus this book was completed and published. As a result, due to Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen it became possible for everyone to truly understand the Punjabi poetry of Sultan Bahoo.
Translation of Persian Books of Sultan Bahoo
Since the other books of Sultan Bahoo are in Persian language and a large number of people are not familiar with Persian, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen under his supervision translated Persian books into Urdu and English to make these teachings common throughout the world.
So, far, English and Urdu translations of twenty Persian books of Sultan Bahoo have been published under Sultan-ul-Faqr Publications and many more translations are under preparation. Among the published books are Risala Roohi Sharif, Noor-ul-Huda Kalan, Noor-ul-Huda Khurd, Kaleed-ul-Tauheed Kalan, Kaleed-ul-Tauheed Khurd, Ain-ul-Faqr, Ameer-ul-Kaunain, Talmeez-ur-Rehman, Ain-ul-Arifeen, Sultan-ul-Waham, Shams-ul-Arifeen, Ganj-ul-Asrar, Kashf-ul-Asrar, Qurb-e-Deedar, Asrar-e-Qadri, Mohkim-ul-Fuqara, Taigh-e-Barhana, Aql-e-Baydar, Mohabbat-ul-Asrar and Ganj-e-Deen.
Apart from this, the translation and interpretation of Imam Hussain’s (RA) work ‘Mirat-ul-Arifeen’, the translation of Ghaus-ul-Azam Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani’s work, ‘Sirr-ul-Asrar’ and the translation of Risala-tul-Ghausia have also been completed under the supervision of Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen. Nowadays, if the spiritual beneficence of Sultan Bahoo’s teachings continues, it is only due to Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen. In addition to publishing various books, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen also oversaw the creation of various websites to spread these teachings throughout the world. All the published books are available on these websites to read and download free of charge. Mobile apps named ‘Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen and ‘Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Books’ have also been developed that are available to download from Google Play Store and Apple App Store free of charge.
