Background

Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman has a God-gifted intellect and wisdom. Therefore, his spiritual guide Sultan-ul-Faqr Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali assigned him the duty of publishing the monthly magazine Mirat-ul-Arifeen Lahore. Although, he had no experience of journalism, yet he performed it with sincerity and hard work. Finally, in April 2000, he successfully published the first issue of Mirat-ul-Arifeen Lahore. Thus, Sultan-ul-Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali made him the chief editor of that magazine. Moreover, he had him publish it by the patronymic of ‘Abu al-Murtaza’ (father of Murtaza). Thoughtfully, he named him so out of love and also due to his son Sahibzada Mohammad Murtaza Najib.

Anyhow, till August 2004, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen ran this magazine with flying colours.  Per the guidance of Sultan-ul-Faqr VI, he made sure it purely contained the teachings of Faqr. Even after the death of his spiritual guide, he continued working for magazine Mirat-ul-Arifeen. Then, slowly one after the other his opponents took back the magazine and other responsibilities from him. Thus, by 2004 the new heads of Tanzeem Al-Arifeen entirely separated him from the organization.

Sultan ul Ashiqeen and Sultan ul Faqr VI
Even after the death of Sultan-ul-Faqr VI, Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen was very keen to continue his Murshid’s message via magazine. Thus, after been separated from Mirat-ul-Arifeen, he made efforts to issue a new magazine to spread the teachings of Faqr.  Hence, in August 2006, he initiated the issuance of Monthly Sultan-ul-Faqr Magazine Lahore.
